Do your breads contain animal products?
SUBWAY® Italian bread contains no animal-derived ingredients. The wheat bread contain honey, which may be considered an animal-derived ingredient. The Parmesan Oregano and other cheese-topped breads do contain milk-derived ingredients.
What menu items at SUBWAY® restaurants are vegan/do not contain animal-derived ingredients?
The menu items that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients are the Veggie Delite™ on Italian bread and the Veggie Delite™ salad. Also these individual items also do not contain animal-derived ingredients: all vegetables, oil, vinegar, mustard and sweet onion sauce. The wheat bread and deli roll contain honey but no other animal-derived ingredients.
Do any of your breads contain milk/milk-derived ingredients?
Only the breads that contain a cheese topping like the Parmesan Oregano bread.
What menu items contain gluten / dairy / eggs / fish / shellfish / wheat / peanuts / tree nuts / soy / sulfites / nitrites?

What is the origin of sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate and the mono- and diglycerides found in the bread?
These ingredients are plant-derived.
What is the origin of enzymes (rennin) used in the cheese?
The bulk of rennet used in processing is microbial however there could be a chance of calf rennin in the cheese due to production variables. The cheese contains no porcine (pig) derived rennet.
Is monosodium glutamate (MSG) used as a flavor enhancer in any of your foods?
SUBWAY® restaurants does not add MSG to any of the standard menu items. However other ingredients such as hydrolyzed or textured vegetable proteins and/or autolyzed yeast are used in our products. These ingredients contain glutamates that may cause similar sensitivities that MSG causes. To find out which foods at SUBWAY® restaurants contain autolyzed yeast and hydrolyzed protein visit the nutrition section of the web site to view ingredient listings. There is also a document in the nutrition section called "Ingredient Information for People with Food Allergies" which identifies menu items that contain these two ingredients. Snack chips and pre-packaged salad dressings sold at stores may contain MSG make sure to read the ingredient listing on the package.
What SUBWAY® menu items are Kosher?
The SUBWAY® chain does not require our food manufacturers to make certified kosher foods. The only menu items that are certified Kosher are the Italian and wheat breads, deli roll, cookies and mayonnaise.
What SUBWAY® menu items are pork-free?
The following sandwiches and salads are pork free: Cold Cut Trio, Tuna, Roast Beef, and Cheese.
Why is the cholesterol content of the chicken breast sub and salad higher than most of the other subs and salads?
There are several reasons for this:
SUBWAY® Subs with 6 grams of fat or less are prepared according to standard recipes with Italian or wheat bread, meat, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, green peppers, olives and is without cheese or condiments (eg. mayonnaise). Customer requests to modify standard sandwich recipes or add cheese and/or condiments may increase fat or calorie content. All other sandwich values include cheese unless otherwise noted.
Salads contain meat/poultry, standard vegetables and do not include salad-dressing or croutons.
Addition of other condiments and fixings will alter nutrition values.
